“Thine is the Kingdom…” – Matthew 6:13
Beloved Saints in the Legal Profession,
He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! Hallelujah!
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who loved us and gave Himself for us, that we might live through Him.
As we commemorate the most powerful weekend in the history of the world – the Death, Burial, and Glorious Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ – I bring you this message of life, hope, and kingdom relevance.
Easter is not just a sacred event. It is the very foundation of our faith and our identity as Christians and as Christian Lawyers. The Apostle Paul declared with boldness, “And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins” (1 Corinthians 15:17). But praise be to God, He is Risen, and with that, we rise!
At CLASFON, we walk under the banner of “A New Legal Profession Anchored on Christ.” That anchorage finds its deepest meaning in the Cross and the Empty Tomb. Jesus Christ, the greatest Advocate of all time, stood in the gap for a guilty humanity. He bore the judgment, satisfied divine justice, and by His resurrection, He now intercedes eternally for us at the right hand of the Father (Romans 8:34).
Beloved brethren, as we reflect on the 2025 CLASFON Theme – “Thine is the Kingdom” (Matthew 6:13) – let us remember that the resurrection is our Kingdom Mandate. Jesus died not just to save souls but to establish a Kingdom – a people redeemed, transformed, and commissioned to live as salt and light in every profession, especially the legal profession.
Let this Easter remind us that we are not mere professionals in wig and gown; we are Kingdom Ambassadors, called to uphold justice, truth, and righteousness with the mind of Christ (Philippians 2:5). The legal system may tremble under corruption and compromise, but we, as Christ’s lawyers, must stand as witnesses of truth and vessels of redemption.
The Cross teaches us sacrifice, and the Resurrection imparts to us power. Therefore, do not grow weary. Whether you serve at the Bar, on the Bench, or within the academic sanctum, know that your labour is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). Injustice may roar, but Resurrection Power whispers louder: “I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
As we celebrate, let us renew our commitment to live out the Gospel, to uphold righteousness in advocacy, to teach law through the lens of Christ, and to mentor the next generation of godly lawyers with humility and fire.
I encourage us to take this Easter as a personal call to consecration – to rebuild the altars of prayer, the discipline of integrity, and the courage to speak truth in every courtroom, classroom, and consultation room.
In conclusion, let us be reminded of the words of the Lord to Joshua:
“Be strong and very courageous… for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9). And the risen Christ declares even now, “Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20).
Christ is Risen – so rise and shine, CLASFON!
Let the world know that Thine is the Kingdom, and we are its sons and daughters in robes of justice and crowns of grace.
God bless you and Happy Easter!
Yours in His Service,
Femi David Ikotun,
National President, CLASFON
